My journey to here...
I began my career as a primary school teacher in 1984 and have always enjoyed working with children. My mother had been a primary school teacher for most of her life so I guess it was a natural step for me to take. However, by 1989 my health was in decline and despite the best efforts of several doctors and specialists, I could neither get a clear diagnosis nor a cure for the extreme fatigue I was experiencing.
I decided to try an alternative route. This led me to discover a new world of complementary medicine and I regained my own health through research, discipline and the help of some excellent practitioners. I found it so fascinating I changed career and became a qualified nutritional & educational kinesiologist in 1992. I have never looked back.
In 2001 I became co-director of Brightchild Productions Ltd and designer and co-author of the ImaginationGYM® Methodology and programs for children. This new venture allowed me to bring my knowledge and experience from both classroom and the clinic to a new forum.
The ImaginationGYM® methodology is based on leading edge educational and cognitive theories with imagination at its core. It is designed to integrate with both formal and informal educational and childcare systems. It can also be used for both children and adults in healthcare environments and hospices. The intensive research and development phase has been supported by a number of academics, psychologists and educational institutions worldwide.
